Right objective, wrong method: enthusiasm must submit to revealed order
David sincerely wants to restore the ark to national attention. The people agree and the procession is joyful, yet the ark is placed on a new cart rather than carried according to the Law. Uzza dies when he touches it. Chapter 15 will explicitly explain the failure: they had not sought God after the due order.
1. A good objective can still be pursued wrongly
Restoring the ark is right; the chosen method is not.
2. Majority approval is not the final standard
The plan seems right to all the people. (1 Chronicles 13:4).
3. Sincerity does not replace revelation
Joy and music cannot make an unauthorised method correct.

The Philistines had used a cart, but Israel had its own revealed instructions.
5. God’s people carry greater responsibility when they know His word

6. One impulsive act may occur inside a larger structural failure
Uzza’s touch happens because the ark should not have been on the cart in the first place.
7. Holiness is serious
Numbers had already forbidden touching the holy things.
8. Failure should drive us back to Scripture
David’s question becomes, “How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?” (1 Chronicles 13:12).

The solution is correction, not permanent retreat.
