Seek young, reform carefully and keep a tender heart before Scripture
Josiah begins seeking God while still young, later purges idolatry and then repairs the temple. During the work the Mosaic law is found. When it is read, Josiah tears his clothes, recognises national guilt and seeks God through Huldah. His tender heart becomes the defining spiritual feature of the chapter.
