Bible Basics 03 - THE PROMISES OF GOD

3.1 The Promises Of God: Introduction

At this point in our studies we have reached a broad understanding of who God is and how He works. In doing so we have cleared up a number of common misunderstandings about these things. Now we want to look more positively at the things which God has "promised to them that love him" (James 1:12; 2:5) by keeping His commandments (Jn. 14:15).

Bible Basics 02 - THE SPIRIT OF GOD

2.1 God's Spirit: Definition

As God is a real, personal being who therefore has feelings and emotions, it is to be expected that He will have some way of sharing His desires and feelings with us, His children, and of acting in our lives in a way that will be consistent with His character. God does all of these things by His "spirit". If we wish to know God and have an active relationship with Him, we need to know what this "spirit of God" is, and how it operates.

School of the Prophets - Lesson 03

Prophets at Work – Prayer – Lesson 3

If reading the Bible is how we hear what God is saying then prayer is how we respond to what God has said. These two together make up our communication with God. Sadly few pray as much as they should; and public prayer is even harder than private prayer. The objective of this lesson is to teach how we should present public prayers.

Fellowship - Lesson 06 - Charity

Lesson 5: Charity

A love feast

This fifth lesson begins our second group of lessons that is concerned with working together with the Biblical idea of charity or as modern translations have it love. Jesus taught in John 13: 34 - "A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; even as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." The commandment to love was at least as old as Moses: "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself" (Lev.

Fellowship - Lesson 05 - Acting as Servants

The Office of Priesthood

The Bible teaches that there is a great gulf between the God of heaven, the Almighty Creator, and fallen mankind, the result of man’s rebellion and sin. God declares: “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts” (Isa. 55:9). God is “of purer eyes than to behold evil”, while fallen man “at his best state is altogether vanity” (Hab. 1:13; Ps. 39:5, AV).

Fellowship - Lesson 03 - A Jewish community

Towards the end of our last lesson we were able to see the great similarities between the Jewish place of meeting – the synagogue – at the time of our Lord and the Co-Operative of today. In this lesson we will extend this thought. We will see how that the departure of Israel leaving Egypt is figurative of our leaving the world and that the Jewish Passover is the same Passover that we celebrate. We shall show that in reality our Ecclesia, our Ecclesial life and our fellowship are in fact a continuation of the Jewish community.
