Fellowship - Lesson 02 - The CoOperative

Fellowship – What is a church?

Lesson 2: The CoOperative

What is a CoOperative (CoOp)?

According to the dictionary a CoOp is a farm, or other organisation which is owned and run jointly by its members, who share the profits or benefits. Essentially a CoOp involves mutual assistance in working towards a common goal.

Many groups of people will form a cooperative and in all likelihood you are probably already involved in one or two of these. If you are not then I would be very surprised.

Team meeting 16th February

There was a C.B.M. Team meeting held at Olivet Birmingham on Saturday.

The output of this meeting will be summarised and circulated via the March newsletter - included in there will be an important announcement regarding the future of Tanzania and plans regarding replacing the linkman.

Fellowship - Lesson 01 - What is a Church?

Lesson 1: Introduction – What is a church?

This is the first in a series of twenty lessons, making up a course discussing the fellowship of the Christadelphian community. Originally this course has been produced to be shared via the Ecclesial newsletter in installments. If you are reading this in the newsletter then expect to see lesson 2 in the next newsletter.

In this lesson we will look at:

Mathew Chapter 01 - Conceiving Christ

Conceiving Christ
MATTHEW 1:18-25

WHEN MY SON Simeon was three, he liked to look at the moon. We could be walking through our neighbourhood on a partially cloudy night or driving along the highway at the break of dawn, and instead of first noticing the coloured Christmas lights on the trees or the cool sports car passing on the left, Simeon would spot the moon. “I see the moon!" he’d belt out from his car seat. “I see the moon,” he’d say, squeezing my hand as we walked.

Increased web traffic

We have been experiencing a huge increase in web-traffic since our recent upgrades. This is good, and this is bad. We have been receiving a lot of feedback about down-time. For this reason we have had to increase the capacity of our database server. This is costing us a lot of money. So if you notice an improvement in our service (particularly up time) resulting from the better database then it would be really great if you would let us know about that too.

Somali language added

As one of our brothers is heading out to Samalia we have added the Somali language to the site. Hopefully we can teach the Word of God in Samalia too. Any volunteers to help with translation work would be very welcome.

Tim Evans to step down

You probably already know by now that bro Tim has decided to stop being linkman for Tanzania. Tim has made this very difficult decision to hand over this link role to somebody else. We are very thankful for all of the time and love that both he and Judith have given to Tanzania, I know just how hard they have worked and how committed to you, their brothers and sisters, they have been. They are both continuing to help CBM Tanzania and will continue to give advice. We have the continued support of Ali and others who you know.
